Healthy while pregnant

Healthy while pregnant : The key to keeping your baby stay healthy is to do a routine pregnancy care. If you think you are pregnant, contact your health care provider to schedule an appointment.

You should first check the contents when you are aged 6-8 weeks, where it is when your period has been delayed 2-4 weeks.

On the first visit, the doctor will calculate the age of the fetus based on physical examination and the date of last menstrual period. Your doctor will also use this information to predict the date of birth (however, an ultrasound performed during pregnancy will help determine the exact date).

If you are healthy and there are no complicating risk factors, you can visit the doctor: Every 4 weeks of pregnancy until the age of 28 weeks, then every 2 weeks to 36 weeks of pregnancy and then once a week until delivery.

Throughout your pregnancy, your doctor will check weight, blood pressure, fetal growth and development (by checking the condition of the stomach, listening to fetal heart rate during the second trimester, and measuring your belly). During pregnancy, you will have prenatal tests, including blood, urine and cervical tests, and possibly ultrasound.

If you still choose a health care provider for pregnancy advice and treatment, here are some options:

1. Obstetrician / gynecologists (also known as OB / GYNS - doctors who specialize in pregnancy and childbirth, and women's health care).
2. Family practitioners (doctors who provide health care for all ages - in particular, this includes obstetrical care).
3. Certified nurse-midwife (midwife specialist women's health, including care during pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal care "normal", except that there are several types of midwives, but you have to choose a midwife who has formal training and expertise in this field).

Options at the top is a good choice if you are healthy during pregnancy and not at risk of pregnancy and birth complications. However, midwives should refer to the doctor if I have problems in the process or require a caesarean birth.
