PREMATURE LABOR

Premature labor is childbirth that occurs when pregnancy has not yet reached the age of 37 weeks. Preterm Labor is an issue that is always a concern for being one of the main causes of neonatal mortality. Premature birth being the cause of the high infant mortality because of the baby's condition is still weak. Babies born prematurely also has a high risk of having neurological congenital disabilities, including cerebral palsy, vision defects and disorders wit, especially when the gestational age is below 32 weeks. These babies are also at high risk for long-term health problems, including cardiovascular disease (heart attack, stroke, and high blood pressure) and diabetes.

The causes of premature labor is unknown, but the following factors may increase the risk:

- you or your siblings born prematurely.
- A study at the University of Aberdeen found that a mother who were born prematurely or had relatives who were born prematurely are at risk of giving birth to a premature baby is 60 percent in first pregnancies. In the next pregnancy, preterm birth decreases potential so 50 percent.
- You ever experienced premature labor. If you ever give birth prematurely, you have a 30 percent risk would repeat it. If you've ever twice gave birth prematurely, the chances are You will get back 70 percent gave birth prematurely.
- You have baby twins. Baby twins have around 50 percent likely to be born prematurely. For triplets, there are 83 percent to be born prematurely.
- You are experiencing vaginal bleeding after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Bleeding in the uterus triggers a release of certain proteins (Thrombin) which can damage the membranes of amniotic fluid, which can lead to premature rupture the amniotic fluid. Thrombin also stimulates uterine contractions, which can induce premature labor.

Symptom of premature labor largely similar to normal birth. Sometimes the signs are vague, making it difficult to recognize and unexpected.

-Contractions every 10 minutes or more often within one hour (five or more uterine contractions in one hour)
– Cramps like a menstrual are felt in the lower abdomen that occurs constantly or missing-arise. Stomach cramps can occur with or without diarrhea
- lower back pain felt below the waist that occurs constantly or missing-arise-pelvic Pressure that feels like your baby is pushing down
- dilute Fluid that comes out of your vagina. Vaginal fluid increases the amount or change color.
